Breezer vs Snusless: Which App Fits You?
Breezer Team
Short version: Snusless is designed around reduction and puts tracking behind a subscription. Breezer is designed around tracking, free in its core features, with friends and leaderboards built in. Both are defensible designs. They just aim at different people.
In fairness, up front: this page is published by Breezer, so we are not a neutral party. Everything stated about Snusless comes from its public App Store listing as of 18 August 2026, and the sources are named at the bottom. Features and prices change; check for yourself if it matters.

The last substantive row is the most tangible difference. Snusless’s listing puts the tracking features behind a premium subscription, quoted at tiers from around €1.99 weekly, €4.99 monthly or €17.99 yearly, all auto-renewing. Breezer charges nothing to log.
When Snusless is the better choice
If you want a prescribed reduction plan rather than setting your own limit. Snusless says it builds a personalised plan from your habits and goals, and for people who want exactly that from an app, it is the core of the product.
The forest visual is more than decoration: it turns the day’s status into an image that visibly changes when you go over. If a bare number feels too abstract, that helps.
And if you do not want social comparison, an app without leaderboards is not a shortcoming, it is the point. Not everyone wants anyone seeing their count.
When Breezer is the better choice
If you want to just count first, without the app assuming you intend to quit. Tracking is the default state in Breezer; Quit Mode gets switched on when you are ready, or never.
If you do not want to pay to see your own consumption. That is a matter of taste, but we think a paywall in front of the core function sits in the wrong place.
If you want other people alongside. That is not only taste: the Cochrane review Group behaviour therapy programmes for smoking cessation by Stead, Carroll and Lancaster (2017) pooled 66 trials and found group programmes clearly ahead of self-help material (RR 1.88, 95% CI 1.52–2.33, 13 studies, 4,395 people). The important caveat belongs right beside it: against one-to-one counselling of the same intensity the group does not win (RR 0.99). So it is not the group as such, it is committed support, and a friends list in an app is the low-threshold version of that, not a substitute.
What neither app can do
This belongs in any honest comparison, and it applies to Snusless and Breezer equally. For smartphone apps as a quitting aid the evidence is open: the Cochrane review by Whittaker and colleagues (2019) found a risk ratio of 1.00 at very low certainty, a draw across five studies rather than a disproof.
The same review does establish that automated prompts arriving from outside work (RR 1.54). And the strongest evidence of all is for behavioural counselling (RR 1.76 in the Cochrane review on smokeless tobacco). Neither app replaces that. If you are quitting, add real support; most countries run a free quitline. The numbers are on quit snus.
Verdict
There is no winner here, there are two different starting questions.
- “I want a plan that brings me down.” Look at Snusless and factor in the subscription.
- “I want to know where I stand first, for free, maybe with friends.” Breezer is built for that.
Both install free. If you are comparing a stop-smoking app instead, Breezer vs Smoke Free is the more relevant comparison. And if you do not yet know how much it even is, start at the snus tracker, or by brand at the Zyn tracker.

Frequently asked questions
What does Snusless cost compared to Breezer?
This is the clearest difference. According to the App Store listing as of 18 August 2026, Snusless puts its tracking features behind a premium subscription, with tiers from around €1.99 weekly, €4.99 monthly or €17.99 yearly. Breezer's tracking is free; a Pro subscription unlocks additional analysis.
Does Breezer have a quit mode like Snusless?
Yes. Breezer has its own Quit Mode with withdrawal logging, milestones and a savings calculation. The difference is less about existence than order: Snusless is designed around reduction, whereas in Breezer tracking is the default state and Quit Mode gets switched on.
Which of the two has social features?
Breezer. Friends, leaderboards and comparison are part of the product. The Snusless App Store listing does not mention such features as of 18 August 2026. Whether groups help people quit has been studied: the Cochrane review by Stead and colleagues found a risk ratio of 1.88 for group programmes against self-help.
Can I trial both apps side by side?
Both install free. With Snusless the tracking features require the subscription, so a full feature trial without paying is limited. Always check the current listing yourself, since features and prices change.
Which app is better?
It depends on the goal, and we are plainly not neutral here. If you want a structured reduction plan with the forest visual and the subscription is fine, Snusless is built for that. If you want free tracking across brands with friends alongside, Breezer is built for that.
